South Fork Nooksack River Skookum-Edfro Reach Habitat Restoration Project – Phase 1 Adaptive Management #WCR69496

Proposal Due: until 1:00 p.m. PDT, June 10, 2025; Sealed bid proposals must be postmarked or received by LNR at 2665 Kwina Road, Bellingham, Washington 98226; Electronic bids will be accepted if they include a scanned copy of the bid bond by the due date.

Scope: Project completion requires installation of 3 engineered log structures (ELSs) in the Skookum Reach of the South Fork Nooksack River (Figures 1, 2, and 3). These medium-size ELSs are similar to the “Rackster ELSs” constructed as part of Phase 1 and Phase 2 of the Skookum Edfro projects in 2016 – 2018. In addition, the Skookum Creek Fish Hatchery outlet channel will be rerouted upstream ~350 feet. Small habitat ELSs and habitat boulders will be installed in the new outlet channel. A fishway vault will be installed near the downstream end of the existing hatchery outlet channel. The owner (LNR)-furnished wood material for the ELSs will be staged by the owner at the site by July 15, 2025 (Figures 1, 2, and 3).

Mandatory Pre-bid: May 27, 2025 on site with the Project Engineer and the LNR project manager from 9:00am – ~12:00pm.
